Practical Information

Arundel Festival of The Arts encourages community spirit and participation, bringing creativity and community together throughout the 10 days. Young people and families enjoy a vast array of hugely talented local and new musicians. Street artists and performers line the doorsteps of our shops, bars and houses in the full spirit of this charitable community event.

Getting here by public transport

Arundel is easy to reach by train or bus. Arundel Railway Station is a 5-10 minute walk from the town centre, and taxis are easily available. There is a taxi rank at Arundel Station or pre-book using the phone numbers below. Trains run direct between Arundel

and London Victoria, and with one change, between Arundel and London Bridge (both a 90-minute journey time); and direct to Gatwick Airport (55 minutes). Ford Railway Station, two miles from Arundel, has direct trains west to Portsmouth and east to Brighton. Trains also run to Bognor, Chichester and Southampton. Stagecoach and Compass Travel run regular buses from Brighton and Chichester to Arundel.

Driving

The A27 is the main arterial route from the east and the west. If you are travelling from north of Arundel, link roads include the A24, A29 and the A284.


Parking

Festival Car Park – All-day parking is available from 09.00 to 19.00 over the Bank Holiday weekend on Saturday 24, Sunday 25 and Monday 26 August- entrance on the left-hand side as you enter The Causeway into Arundel from the south.

Accessible Toilets and Changing Facilities

Crown Yard Car Park has public toilets with an adult disabled “Changing Places” facility, a disabled toilet and baby change facilities. Mill Road Car Park has public toilets with a disabled toilet and baby change facilities.


Cycling

Cycle parking is available in the Arundel Lido car park, by Arundel Museum, and on the Town Quay.


Road Closures

To stage a safe and enjoyable Arundel Festival of the Arts, with al fresco dining and street entertainment, there will be a limited number of road closures:

Saturday 17 August: Farmers’ Market road closure of lower High Street, 06.00 to 17.00 (including large cobbles in front of Pallant of Arundel and Arundel Butchers). Upper High Street and Tarrant Street open as usual.


Sunday 18 August: Closure of large cobbles in front of Pallant of Arundel and Arundel Butchers from 09.00 to 18.00. High Street and Tarrant Street open as usual.


Thursday 22 August: ABBAMAGIC.


• Saturday 24, Sunday 25 and Monday 26 August: Full town road closure (all of High Street and Tarrant Street to Bakers Arms Hill) from 08.00 to 19.00. (Tarrant Street from 07.30.) Bank Holiday Weekend events all round town, al fresco dining, Tarrant Street Market.


Please note the bollards on River Road will be lowered to allow residents access during the upper High Street closure on 22 August; and for the Bank Holiday weekend – Saturday 24, Sunday 25 and Monday 26 August (from 07.30).
