TEAM Arundel

ARUNDEL is a hive of activity and fun, but every event requires considerable support to make it happen. Last year saw the launch of the ‘Team Arundel’ volunteer initiative to offer volunteers a range of exciting events throughout the year and to match volunteers, and their skills and experience, to events they will genuinely enjoy helping to stage

Carola Adams

Volunteer Co-Ordinator
I feel very lucky to live in this beautiful town, where visitors are welcomed, people are so friendly, and there is such a strong artistic and creative community. I first volunteered for the Festival Team the year before Covid and I was so happy when the event came back to life soon after.

“Joining up” enabled me to meet other locals working within the team and now I am pleased to appreciate so many as my friends. I urge you to volunteer if you have any free time during the year to gain what will be a special experience! I have now been the Volunteer Co-ordinator for the last three years and I am so grateful to the residents of Arundel for holding their hands up and offering to help the Festival in marshalling numerous events over the year...often changing their own plans at the last minute to help out.

I believe the word FUN is what volunteering here in Arundel is all about and after a shift the Volunteers always have a big smile on their faces!

Arundel Festival of the Arts helps to make Arundel and the surrounding areas a very special place to live.

Having retired recently and finding I had some time on my hands, I wanted to get more involved with the community in Arundel and meet some new people.

I attended some of the Arundel Festival events in 2022, where I really liked the vibe, the range of diverse entertainment and I could see it was well run by a dedicated group of local people.

Since becoming a volunteer with Team Arundel I have met many lovely volunteers and visitors, taken part in several events during the year, visited places and venues that are fantastic assets to the town and learned a lot about Arundel and the surrounding area.

Being part of Team Arundel is a very positive experience and good fun.

Lettie & Mark Jones

We moved to Arundel in 2020- in between lockdowns!

Both retired - Mark from the Petrochemical Industry and Lettie, originally a Dental Nurse then Pre- school Leader- we were looking forward to growing old together and we couldn’t have found anywhere better. What a wonderful place to be, with so much on offer!

Being involved with Team Arundel from 2022 was a great move too! We both love music, in fact we’re in a covers band- The Practice...and Mum & Bass can often be found at local Open Mike nights!

We love volunteering for the AFOTA Charity, from the year-round events and especially meeting all the other wonderful volunteers we have got to know. The Charity gives fantastic support to local artists, as well as other talented performers throughout the year. Volunteering is the keystone to the safe and smooth running of all these events and we are very proud to be part of it.

Gail & Ann Marie Dubock

We loved attending many aspects of Arundel Festival for over a decade, but
we finally got round to volunteering in 2023.

Our professional background is in primary education and we are also active in community events as residents of the nearby village of Poling. We like volunteering and getting to know people!

We enjoy living near Arundel and helping at various events, especially the festival. It’s enjoyable (even in the rain!) and makes us appreciate the huge amount of work that goes into making it all happen.

We are glad to be play a small part in this impressive and friendly community event.

I always wanted to (excuse the cliche’) live in a “community environment” - a place where people help each other in time, skills and resources as well as having fun with anyone and everyone and that is what Team Arundel is all about.

You are always made to feel welcome, get involved in various capacities, combining
skills and abilities, as well as being able to contribute as much or as little time as you can manage.

Team Arundel is a great way to make friends, get involved in the town, as well as seeing many acts and entertainments. At the same time, it secures the notion
of the Cheers 80’s hit song “ Everyone knows my name”!
